About Mason Markland Photography

Hey hey! My name is Mason Markland. I’m 21 years old, full of ambition (and a lot of ADHD), and an entrepreneur at heart. I’m a photographer and soon-to-be realtor, but my true passion has always been photography. Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of the business side of things—I just love taking pictures and capturing moments that often go unseen.

I graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 2022, but my photography journey started way earlier—back in middle school with my iPod. The photos weren’t great, but I loved playing around with editing, composition, and all the fun stuff. When I finally got my first “real” camera, I thought it was the best thing ever and carried it everywhere, taking pictures of literally everything. Even after I stopped carrying it daily, people would always ask me, “Where’s your camera?”

In high school, I developed not only my photography skills but also my understanding of business, networking, and editing—everything that eventually pushed me to launch my own photography business. I started out shooting sports and senior portraits, and from there, everything else came naturally. I don’t stick to one niche—photography for me is about the people, the moments, and the feeling. My biggest priority is making my clients feel confident and authentic in front of the camera. Photos can be intimidating, but I want to create a space where people feel seen and celebrated.

Outside of photography, I’ve got plenty of hobbies. I love gardening (though I tend to buy plants just to accidentally kill them), and I’m a coffee shop enthusiast—even though I don’t really like coffee, funny enough. Most weekends, you’ll find me at my family’s cabin at Yough Lake, soaking up the outdoors, hanging out with friends and family, being on the water, and enjoying life with a cold drink in my hand.

I’m also passionate about deep conversations and finding beauty in life’s challenges. I’m starting a podcast called The Human Side, where I’ll dive into the deeper meaning of what drives today’s business owners. I can’t wait to share that journey with you all.
